Nevada Introduces Bill to Allow Medical Cannabis for Pets

As dog lovers at Constance Pure Botanical Extracts, we’re sensitive to the needs of our canine companions, as well as those of other pets.

That’s why we’re interested in the latest news out of Nevada, where Senator Tick Segerbloom has introduced a bill to the Nevada legislature that would legalize the medical use of cannabis for pets under a veterinarian’s supervision.

Senate Bill 372, which introduces various changes to the state’s current medical marijuana legislation, would also allow issuance of medical marijuana cards for pets whose owners are Nevada citizens and whose veterinarian concurs that the pet has a condition – fatal or not – that could be ameliorated by cannabis.

We praise Nevada’s decision, noting that dogs, cats, and all other vertebrates have an endocannabinoid system within, just like humans.

Pet owners and vets who have tried cannabis products for pets have used them for many maladies, including:

  • Epilepsy
  • Joint Discomfort
  • Neurological Function
  • Discomfort from advanced age

It’s important to note that if you’re interested in administering cannabis oils to your dog for any purpose, you need to work with your veterinarian and an experienced cannabis oil collective like CPBE who works to provide high-quality oils with individualized protocols for your pet’s needs.

At Constance Pure Botanical Extracts, we apply the same level of science-based quality therapeutics for pets as we do for our human member-patients.
